Statement Announcing the Executive Order on Women’s Health

32

HealthyWomen welcomes the Administration’s recent announcement of an Executive Order that would establish a new Division of Women’s Health within the National Institutes of Health, establish a White House Women’s Health Task Force, and coordinate a comprehensive approach to women’s health at all stages of life.

Meaningfully advancing women’s health requires sustained commitment and collaboration between government, health and women’s advocacy organizations. This order is an important step in mobilizing federal agencies on women’s health and builds on long-standing bipartisan efforts.

We look forward to the White House Women’s Health Task Force translating the Order’s priorities into meaningful action, fostering collaboration, and identifying opportunities to strengthen research, innovation, education, and access to health care. For almost 40 years, HealthyWomen has been a trusted voice in advancing women’s health and we stand ready to work with the government to advance our shared priority of improving women’s health across the lifespan.
