Monochromatic Three Ways: Straight, Hollywood Waves & Natural Curls
Anh Co Tran loves Milbon&’s Monochromatic Collection for its versatility across different hair types, textures, and styling techniques. To demonstrate that versatility, Anh styled three distinct looks on Brianna: sleek ’90s straight hair, glamorous Hollywood waves, and natural diffused curls.
Watch his salon session below, then read more to get the style breakdowns for each look.
Look 1: ‘90s Straight
Featured Products: Froth & Velvet
Anh loves how chic and modern straight hair feels. He first used the Froth Blowout Foam on her damp hair from roots to ends for heat protection, control, and bounce.
Next, he applied Velvet Texturizing Cream through the mid-lengths and ends for hydration and a natural sheen.
Using a concentrator nozzle, Anh blow-dried the hair smooth. For the final details, he flat-ironed the lengths and ends for an ultra-sleek finish.
The result was sleek, polished hair with natural movement and healthy shine.
Look 2: Hollywood Waves
Featured Products: Froth & Puff
For this look, Anh first prepped her dry hair with Froth Blowout Foam and Milbon’s Flex Memory Hairspray 7 for hold.
He curled the hair in sections and clipped them in place, allowing time for the curls to set. Once the curls cooled and set, Anh removed the clips before massaging Puff Finishing Paste into the roots. For Brianna’s thicker hair, he used 3 pea-sized amounts of the Puff.
To finish, he misted her hair with more Flex Memory Hairspray 7 for workable hold while maintaining movement.
The finished waves felt glamorous and structured while remaining soft and brushable.
Look 3: Natural Curls
Featured Products: Velvet, Froth & Puff
Brianna has amazing natural curls, so Anh wanted to accentuate her everyday look using Monochromatic.
To prepare Brianna’s curls for diffusing, Anh layered lightweight products to enhance hydration, hold, frizz control, and curl definition. Beginning with 2 pea-sized amounts of Velvet Texturizing Cream all over her hair, Anh then added 1 palmful of Froth Blowout Foam. Lastly, he added 1 pump of Milbon’s Curl Care Leave-In Treatment.
After each product’s application, Anh scrunched the curls to encourage their natural pattern. Then, he diffused the hair.
On dry hair, Anh scrunched another 1 pea-sized amount of Velvet Texturizing Cream from mid-lengths through ends for extra hydration. He finished off her style with a pea-size of Puff Finishing Paste massaged into the roots to create an airy cushion and natural lift.
The final look enhanced Brianna’s natural curls with definition, hydration, and soft cushioning.

As Anh shares, “It’s so cool to see all the variations of these products. I love how everyone uses the collection in so many different ways.”
