Yvonne Léon Embraces London With New Shop-in-Shop at Liberty
The new Yvonne Léon shop-in-shop at Liberty London expands the brand’s international presence while introducing new clients to Léon’s work, traditional French craftsmanship, and the Léon flair, the French designer says.
Léon is based in Paris and has two stores there. She feels she is starting a new chapter in her company’s history with the London shop-in-shop, which opened on Nov. 6 in a department store known for its focus on luxury brands and on-trend design. At Liberty London, Yvonne Léon is located on the ground floor, in the store’s celebrated Jewellery Hall.
“The idea was to capture the essence of Yvonne Léon and our Parisian boutiques,” says Léon (pictured at top). “We want customers to feel a welcoming atmosphere, where every visit is a unique experience. The goal is for them to feel both inspired and special, immersed in a refined universe that reflects the elegance and authenticity of our collections.”
Her space at Liberty London is a tight 64 square feet, so Léon had to pack a lot of personality into a small area. But she says the boutique—in colors she describes as soft and powdery—reflects the refined Yvonne Léon style yet also blends into Liberty London’s unique atmosphere.
The shop-in-shop is staffed by Léon’s own team, giving new and existing clients experts to work with when they are shopping in Liberty London. It also gives clients an immersive brand experience, as if they are shopping at one of the Parisian boutiques, Léon says.
“This space invites fine jewelry enthusiasts to discover the brand’s iconic creations, blending preciousness with whimsy,” Léon says of her singular designs like the mini lobster earring and Gousset pieces, inspired by watch crowns. Her styling the Gousset jewels on a crab made out of sliced apple also represents the Léon aesthetic, she jokes.
“The shop-in-shop offers an iconic selection of our collections, including Les Chevalières, La Plage, Le Safari, Les Berlingots, Les Gaufrettes, Les Solitaires, as well as many other creations,” Léon says. “We wanted to present Londonians with a diverse selection, allowing everyone to find the piece that perfectly suits them.”
