With seven Grand Slam titles and four Olympic gold medals to her name, Venus Williams is a force that you have to expect in Tennis competition. But we find their projects from the square – from the start of Activewear Collabs for a good reason to advocate equality of women in sport – just as inspiring. Her latest step is a partnership with Dove for the Body Confident Sport, an initiative that focuses on building trust in young athletes (you may have recently discovered ads in the Superbowl). For every pigeon article bought today until February 28th, the brand donates to organizations such as Big Brothers Big Sisters of America and Boys & Girls Clubs of America to support girls in sports.

As her astonishing twin, I had the opportunity to meet Williams for a Quickfire-Q&A and to dive into everything, from her beauty routine to her advice for the next generation of athletes. Refinery29: Tell us more about your collaboration with Dove and why this project means so much to you.

Venus Williams: Body’s confident sport initiative is the only program of its kind that focuses on the coaches and how they can help build trust in girls – who are at this very impressive age – and encourage them to stay in sports. [In addition to the donation mentioned above, Dove has also partnered with the Women’s National Football Conference to host football camps and clinics for girls, and is providing resources and webinars to coaches through the Women’s Sports Foundation].

I am so excited about it because I can’t imagine my life without sport. When I was at that age, I also watched these trainers. I know the first -hand effect [that] A positive conversation and negative conversation had her self -confidence.

R29: In which beauty products do you contact yourself if you need this boost?

VW: I always moisturize moisturizing, so I bring rose water everywhere. Regardless of whether I’m on the plane or in the car, I always spray on my skin. I also love to layer serums and moisturizers. My most recent favorites were the Dior Capture Le Sérum, 145 US dollars and the Dior Capture Creme, $ 145.

When I’m on the pitch, I like to wear Eyeliner and strong earrings to pronounce them. My favorite -Eyeliner is Milani’s stay of 16 hours, 9.99 US dollars. It is waterproof and you don’t have to worry about dirt. If it goes on, it stays on. I also wear that when I go out at night.

R29: What are some of the best beauty lessons you have taken from your loved ones?

VW: I have learned to always wear sunscreen from Serena and put on long sleeves and leggings when I’m in the sun.

One of my older sisters always said: “Update, not too late!” I am inspired by her to always refresh my style and treat it every few years as a fun project. I learned from my make-up images to put on my lips always a layer of moisture (like a water-based serum) before I sealed them with lip balm or make-up.

R29: Let’s talk about personal care. Do you have affordable favorites?

VW: I used the pigeon relaxed body wash lavender oil and chamomile with 6.97 US dollars and I love the fragrance. I also love the pigeon peeling body laundry, 9.97 US [thanks to a formula designed for melanin-rich skin, packed with moisturizing ceramides and gentle exfoliants like salicylic acid]. I also recommend the pigeon, the long -lasting, gentle body wash, 6.97 US dollars; I just love the mango scent. I used a body pepper when I shower with these products. It is really good for your lymphatic system. You can also use the scrubber to the dry brush, which gives you softer skin.

R29: Do you have advice for young girls to overcome self -doubt?

VW: It’s okay to live with a little self-doubt-only part of life is. I always say that there are ups and downs in life, but what is important are the decisions they make when they believe in themselves. When I’m on the pitch when I feel good, what I wear and how I style myself, I can simply concentrate on my tennis.

If girls have the opportunity to do sports, they have much less time or concern about what other people think, and instead they think about what they can achieve. Concentrating on what I can achieve made a big difference for me, and I spend less time to think about how other people judge me.

I would also say that every little thing adds: Even if I go to the gym for 15 minutes, it is still a way to take care of yourself. You would be surprised at how much you can achieve in 15 minutes if you don’t give up.
