July is a fibroid month of consciousness.
Fibroids can be life-changing-and not in a good way. Up to 8 out of 10 women develop fibroids up to 50 years, and this can mean that cramps bleed weakening cramps and average leg bonds during their period.
Research has not been completed why women and people get women at birth (Afab), but certain factors such as family history and breed can increase their risk. For example, fibroids are up to three times more common in black women, and black women are usually diagnosed with fibroids at younger age, have a higher surgical rate and hospital stays compared to white women.

Unfortunately, it can take years for a proper diagnosis to be available. A lack of awareness of fibroids and period -stigma can prevent people from fulfilling the care they need.
