This easy Philly Cheesesteak sliders recipe is loaded with the classics: thinly sliced beef, cheese, onions, peppers, and flavor.
You can use leftover prime rib recipes, steak, roast beef, or freshly sliced deli meat to make these steak sliders. They all work exceptionally well.

Ingredients and Substitutions
Here are the main ingredients required to make these sliders. For the complete list of ingredients, reference the recipe card below:
- Beef – I prefer to use the traditional ribeye, however it’s rather expensive and you can get similar results with top round. When utilizing tougher cuts of meats I like sprinkling meat tenderizer on it a few minutes prior to cooking.
- Provolone cheese – you can replace with Cheez wiz or American cheese.
- Slider Bread- King’s brand Hawaiian Rolls are, by far, my favorite, but basic dinner rolls and mini hamburger buns also work well.

Recipe Tips
- Use thinly sliced beef: Ribeye works best for authentic flavor, but you can also use sirloin or shaved steak for convenience. It’s also a great way to use leftover steak.
- Freeze meat slightly before slicing: If cutting your own steak, freeze it for 30 minutes first to make it easier to slice super thin.
- Serve immediately: These are best eaten hot, right out of the oven.
- Storage: Store leftover prime rib sliders in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Ingredients
PRIME RIB SLIDERS
- 1 package slider rolls (9 or 12-pack)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 1 large bell pepper, sliced
- 1 lb thinly sliced steak (*Note 1)
- ½ tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- 6-8 slices provolone cheese (*Note 2)
- 3 tbsp melted butter
- 1 tbsp finely minced garlic
Instructions

Pre-heat oven to 350°F degrees.

Cut the slider rolls in half horizontally, keeping the individual rolls attached. Place the bottom half of the slider bread on a greased sheet pan or baking dish. Set aside.

Pre-heat a large skillet with oil over medium-high heat. Add the onions and bell peppers and toss to coat. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the onions and peppers are soft. Transfer to a paper towel lined bowl and set aside. Drain any excess liquid in the skillet.

If using raw thinly sliced meat, add to the skillet and sprinkle the onion powder, garlic powder and salt (to taste) over the top. Cook until the meat has an internal temperature of 165℉. Drain any excess liquid. If using leftover steak, skip this step as the meat is already cooked.

Top the bottom of the bread with the steak, pepper/onion mixture, and cheese. Place the top of the rolls on the sliders.

In a small bowl, mix together the melted butter and minced garlic. Evenly brush the tops of the sliders with the garlic butter sauce.

Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 10 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for another 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted.

Let the sliders rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.

Note 2 – You can also use Cheez Wiz or American cheese.
