The annual unveiling of Pantone’s Color of the Year is always a highly anticipated event. Moments ago, Pantone announced its pick for 2025: PANTONE 17-1230, better known as “Mocha Mousse.”
Described as “a warming rich brown hue” in the official announcement, Pantone says the shade “nurtures with its suggestion of the delectable quality of cacao, chocolate and coffee, appealing to our desire for comfort.” The inspiration behind the color, the brand explains, ties to a collective shift toward nature: “There is a growing movement to align ourselves more closely with the natural world. Characterized by its organic nature, PANTONE 17-1230 Mocha Mousse honors and embraces the sustenance of our physical environment.”
