Panic Shack’s New Single ‘Girl Band Starter Pack’ Drops

Cardiff’s finest punk party-starters Panic Shack return with a bang – and a bassline that could level a dancefloor – on their new single ‘Girl Band Starter Pack’, the riotous lead track from their just-announced eponymous debut album, due 18 July via Brace Yourself Records. This is our LOUD WOMEN – and you’ll hear it tonight on the LOUD WOMEN radio show on Resonance 104.4fm from 6pm.

From the first clink of pint glasses and beer-garden banter (sampled live at an Amyl & the Sniffers gig, naturally), it’s clear this is going to be a night out disguised as a track.

“Four iced lattes / Sit outside / Smoke a rolly…”

goes the chant, building like the buzz before the taxi’s even pulled up. The track fizzes with Panic Shack’s signature sardonic wit, raucous guitar lines, and shout-along camaraderie – equal parts silly and sharp.

Long-time fans will recognise the title – it’s the name of the playlist that sparked the band into existence, and now it’s been reborn as the ultimate manifesto of their sound.

“It personifies our friendship and the electricity we feel when we’re together,” say the band. You can hear it in every thudding beat.

The video seals the deal, starring Welsh drag royalty Jolene Dover, Lasagne Sheets, CiCi and Bopa Rhys playing the band on a Cardiff night out. Chaos, glitter, stilettos and impeccable vibes – a perfect tribute to the group’s sense of humour and chaotic good energy.

With their debut album locked in, a May tour nearly sold out, and a reputation as one of the UK’s most outrageously fun live acts, Panic Shack are about to bring the roof down all summer.
