[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] I received these Milk Makeup samples well before Christmas and have got very fond of the Lip & Cheek Creamy Sheer Blush and Lip Colour, to give it the full title. It’s the right side of sheer and the right side of pigment to give a wash of colour over the cheeks that’s both natural and enlivening.
There are ten shades and I have Werk and Quickie. Werk is the one I’ve fallen for. I have to say that I’ve seen these before and they’re tiny so £22 feels like a big ask, but because of the way the product lays on in such a veil like way, it would take a very long time to be completely finished with one of these blushes.
Quickie is below, Werk is above. These names are the price we pay for tapping into brands designed for a generation away from us in terms of age. However, just like Glossier, Milk Makeup is making textures that suit older skin down to the very ground. Lip Oils, sheer highlighters, creme bronzers – they’re all glidey and creamy and just lovely to blend. I’m laughing now because I’m sure I’ve seen a greetings card with a man saying, ‘fancy a quickie?’, and the woman saying, ‘it’s pronounced quiche, Richard’. I can put up with a quickie for this level of usefulness although I’d suggest that it doesn’t work as well as a lip product. To me, it looked a little bit dry and uninspiring.
