The London Diamond Bourse (LDB) has announced the launch of its new Women’s Network.

The Women’s Network is an initiative aimed at empowering and supporting the women who shape the diamond and jewellery industry.

The inaugural event ‘Coffee and Diamonds’ took place at the LDB in December, hosting the women of the London Diamond Bourse.

As part of the agenda set out by the new Council of Management, the empowerment of women has been placed at the forefront of its priorities.

This commitment has already been demonstrated by the appointment of the first ever female vice president.

The events will feature a series of informal talks and discussions, with industry leaders sharing their experiences and insights into how women can thrive in the traditionally male dominated diamond trade.

Charlotte Rose, vice president of the LDB, said: “We are incredibly excited to launch the Women’s Network at the London Diamond Bourse. With a goal to create a strong, supportive community for women who work in or around the diamond and jewellery sector.

“I have witnessed first-hand how women can thrive when given the right support and opportunities. This network will create a space for women to share their experiences, break down barriers and access the right support to grow in the industry.”

Deborah Smookler, member of the Council of Management, added: “The Women’s Network represents an invaluable opportunity for women in our industry to connect, share insights, and support each other’s growth. By fostering a community rooted in collaboration, we are creating a ripple effect that strengthens our industry and empowers us to lead with innovation and impact.”
