Join the Feminist Creatives Society in 2025
Hello friends,
I first heard the quote above from the incomparable Dr. Tania Israel on her podcast Ready to Be Strong. I was immediately moved by this framing, and it struck me as a call to action, a reminder about the power of making something new in the face of the unspeakable.
That’s the energy I’m bringing into 2025 and the second session of the Feminist Creatives Society, the project formerly known as the Feminist Writers Society. The new name reflects our intention to welcome all frustrated feminist artists and allies looking to carve out more time to be creative this coming year.
The name is different, but the mission is the same: For about 80 minutes every Thursday evening (at 6 p.m. CT), fewer than 10 us will meet on Zoom, talk about our creative projects, spend about 30 minutes in quiet creative bliss, then debrief. All for the low, low price of $13.
We’ll launch on January 2, 2025, to start the new year off right.
The Feminist Writers Society’s inaugural session ran from January to March 2024, and it was everything I hoped it would be and SO MUCH MORE: inspiring, warm, community-building, thoughtful, thought-provoking and the kick in the pants I needed to get writing done.
If you’ve heard enough and you’re in for some Feminist Creatives Society fun, you can sign up on Eventbrite here.
Please also follow us on Instagram for updates and inspo.
I’m incredibly excited about this project, and it checks a lotta boxes for me, providing:
- Dedicated writing time
- A chance to meet fellow feminist badasses
- Income to keep Rebellious Magazine going
My hope for the people who join me is that it gives you:
- Permission to make time for creativity
- Access to a new community
- Accountability to keep on keepin’ on
The Feminist Creatives Society might be a good fit for you if you’re working on:
- An article
- A logo design
- An essay

- Video edits
- Copy of any kind
- An animation
