Inflammation of type 2 and nasal polyps

What is inflammation of type 2?

Without confusing it with type -2 diabetes, type 2 inflammation includes the immune system.

We all have an immune response of type 2 when your immune system sends immune cells of type 2 to combat certain infections or allergens.

Type -2 immune cells fight “intruders” that cause inflammation.

  • Inflammation serves to remove infections and allergens out of the body and to start the healing process.
  • For some people, the immune response of type 2 occurs if there is no “intruder” that has to be fought, and inflammation influences parts of the body that would be healthy apart from this problem.
    • This hyperactive immune response is inflammation of type 2.

Inflammation of type 2 can play an important role in certain chronic medical disorders and problems

  • Asma
  • Chronic obstructive lung disease (COPD)
  • Atopic dermatitis (eczema)
  • Eosinophil of the esophagus (EEO)
  • Food allergies
  • Urticaria
  • Sleep apnea.

In the nose, Inflammation of type 2 can cause:

  • Rinosinusitis Chronic (RSC)
  • Nasal polyps
    • Non -cancer -like protuberances that cover the interior of the nose and the sinuses
  • Chronic rinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSWNP)
    • A combination of the two disorders

About 25 to 30% of people with CSR also have nasal polyps.

Nasal polyp symptoms

Nasal polyps are often painless and there are no symptoms, especially if they are small.

Large nasal polyps could block the nose and make breathing difficult.

People with CRSWNP were able to experiment:

  • The nose covered the nose drip
  • Nasen -Retro drops (mucus that flows through the neck)
  • Loss of the sense of smell or taste
  • Facial pain
  • Headache
  • Toothache
  • snoring

Treatment of inflammation of type 2 and nasal polyps

  • A medical provider can recognize inflammation of type 2 with blood and airways.
    • If you diagnose an inflammatory disorder of type 2, your medical provider can prescribe medication such as antihistamines, steroids and biopharmac to treat your symptoms, including nasal polyps.
      • Nasal polyps could also be treated with surgery, but there is a high probability of recurring
