Glow Recipe Prickly Pear Peptide Mucin Serum Review

[unpaid/sample/affiliate] I’m truly not a fan of mucin anything because at this point, it’s just marketing on the back of supposedly impressive snail mucin in skin care. However, if I just remove the word ‘mucin’ from this serum, it’s really very pleasant indeed. The mucin element comes from prickly pear as explained in the title but the texture is a little mucussy in that if you press it between your thumb and forefinger, it sort of ‘strings’ as though it’s sticky.

Trust me though, it’s not sticky. It feels like a slightly heavier hyaluronic acid and gives a beautiful glide across the skin. The dewy feel doesn’t last so you can then add moisturiser over the top of the serum to without creating a moisture overload feel. Prickly Pear contains over 40 bioactive compounds – essential fatty acids, vitamins and minerals – which make it ideal in skin care.

If you’re looking for a booster serum to layer under your moisturiser, I think I’d happily recommend Glow Recipe Prickly Pear Peptide Mucin Serum for the comfort feeling, the 3% ectoin (an ingredient that is very moisturising but also acts as an anti-inflammatory agent and skin barrier repair). It’s £28 at Sephora HERE.
