Friday Faves : Sept. 26, 2025
Hello! And welcome to Friday Faves!

This week I put the rest of my roasted Hatch chiles to work in my white bean chicken chili, and it was deeee-vine. Because I had them in the fridge, I added some chopped carrots and slivered kale to the pot. I love that it’s creamy without adding cream (the secret is tortilla chips to thicken the broth!)
9 habits that will help you live to 100. I mean, I *think* I want to live that long? Or do I?
The happiest place on earth for travelers has just been named, and it isn’t Disneyland. I cannot wait to visit!
Before she moved to San Francisco, my Smudge titled this playlist, “Cooking in my new kitchen with big windows,” and we both about fell over when we realized she manifested it coming true with her new apartment. Even better, they’re some good tunes to cook or work to. I love that she has such a diverse love of music (just like her daddio.)
This market was recently named the best grocery store in the U.S., but sadly, it’s only in 22 states. Come on people, bring it to the masses.
There was nothing worth watching on TV this week, so I flipped over to YouTube and watched a few episodes of this cooking series, with this cookbook author, which led me to buying her new cookbook that was delivered the next day. And I LOVE it. It’s exactly the type I can devour: A little bit of teaching, a few basic recipes to master, and several more with unique flair, with many tying into another for a complete meal. I’ll be cooking from it, for sure.
Everyone is on the “more protein” movement (me included), but nutritionists are sharing how much protein could be too much protein and what the side affects can be.
A best-of-fall mix of cornbread and pumpkin makes these muffins prime for autumn baking.
Pecan pie brownies??!! Forget about it, I NEED THESE.
Or, how about chocolate brownie bites. I could def pop more than one.
Go heavy on the veg with this Indian curry dinner.
This 5-minute stir-fry sauce is an easy basic to master.
Pumpkin sugar cookies. Bring it on.
I have been all about beans, and this one-pan chicken dinner is so similar to a recipe I’ve been testing. Yum.
Pumpkin risotto –> so creamy!
This recipe is such a simple reason to love cabbage.
Anytime you add ricotta cheese to meatballs, you can count me as a fan.
Yet another reason to love green curry!
Am I the only one who hasn’t heard of St. Louis pizza (and wants it now)?
A sweet treat with a healthy twist –> pumpkin seed brittle.
This chili crisped recipe could bring me around to liking Brussels sprouts better.
This is how salmon gets creamy, lemony, and pastafied.
Grilled taco chicken gives Taco Tuesday a whole new dimension.
You know how much I love artichokes, and these crispy air fryer artichoke nuggets have a hold on me!
It’s here! Halloween Chex mix.
Who doesn’t love PB&Js, but made even better in cookies!
Moist and kind of cakey, these pumpkin bars have all the right moves.
12 must-do tasks for your fall garden.
No gym? No excuses –> 12 body weight exercises you can do anywhere to build strength.
Holiday season will soon be upon us, and that likely means houseguests. I just sent this blow-up bed to my Smudge for when they have visitors in town (bc what college student doesn’t want a free place to stay while visiting San Francisco??) 65,000+ nearly 5-star reviews can’t be wrong.
When the temps turn down, I hate when my neck is cold, so I’m always wearing some sort of wrap. I’m tempted to try this bonnet to keep it all warmer in one fell swoop!
While on vacation last weekend, we wandered into this fun scandia boutique where I bought this 5-year journal. I’m a fan of this type of diary because I can note just a few lines about each day to remember where the hell time went and what I did! What moved me to buy it is the larger size than this one, so it’s easier to write in. Love, love, love it.
That’s it for this week. Get outside, get cookin’, and enjoy!
