ESPA Bergamot & Jasmine Bath & Shower Gel Review

[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] It’s really starting to feel a lot like pamper time. I’m a bath person, not a shower person but not a wallower particularly. I will never forget when my son, aged about seven, decided he wanted a pampering bath so we set the bathroom up with some bath lights (you stick them on the inside of the bath and they make the water glow), a candle (with a glass of water next to it in case of fire – his idea), a sea of bubbles and the towels all fluffed and ready on the radiator to be warm for when he got out. I left him to it and was surprised to find him out and in his pyjamas about ten minutes later. It just wasn’t as exciting as he thought it would be and he got bored lying in the water. I mean, as life disappointments go, that’s fairly minor, but I totally understood! About 10 mins is my max but make those minutes count!

Much as I’m an Aromatherapy Associates fan to my core, when these delights from Espa appeared, I could not have been more happy. The Bergamot & Jasmine Bath & Shower gel is more bergamot than jasmine so it has a fresh scent to it that’s very pleasant and botanical. The gel is soap free and the fragrance is delicate rather than overwhelming – the bubbles get 10 stars. I don’t know how you make bubbles from a soap free formula but rather than go down the rabbit hole, I’ll just accept my lovely bath as proof that you can.

The body lotion is silky and not too thick. Again, it’s more bergamot than jasmine although there is an earthier down-note to the fresh-clean aroma that I could more easily detect in the lotion than the gel. It certainly gives my skin the dryness relief I want and a very silky texture so on that front, more stars. I think this may be a new scent variant for Espa – in fact, the brand has quite a lot of new things. The set, which includes a mini Invigorating Body Reviver (aka an exfoliator!) is £48, or individually, the lotion is £21 and the gel is £20 HERE. If I had to choose one, I’d take the body lotion because I’m impressed at how long the scent lasts on my skin. A top tip is that the minis HERE have 40% off and they’re never not going to be handy for gifts and travel.
