When pancreatic cancer is detected early, more treatment options are available.
Early diagnosis can be difficult because symptoms may not be specific to pancreatic cancer.
Watch out for these non-specific symptoms:

Pain in the back or stomach
Tumors can press on nearby organs or nerves and cause pain in the back or stomach.
Slide 4:
Jaundice
Signs of jaundice include:
- Yellowing of the eyes or skin
- Dark pee
- Light-colored or greasy feces
- Itchy skin

Digestive problems
Tumors can partially block the stomach and cause:
- nausea
- Vomit
- Pain after eating
- Diarrhea
- constipation
- Indigestion
- Flatulence

Unexplained weight loss
Losing weight without trying or having little interest in food
Slide 7:
Sudden onset diabetes
Pancreatic cancer can destroy insulin-producing cells and cause diabetes.
Signs of diabetes include:
- Feel thirstier or hungrier than normal
- Have to pee often
- Changes in blood sugar levels
Slide 8:
Blood clots
Blood clots that get stuck in a large vein, usually in the leg. Symptoms in the affected area include:
- pain
- swelling
- Redness
- warmth
Slide 9:
Pancreatic cancer is not the most common cause of these symptoms. However, if you experience any of these, talk to your doctor about your concerns.
