Cher’s Blonde Beehive Could Probably Touch the Stars

Live from New York, it’s Cher’s beehive! The iconic musician and actor celebrated SNL‘s 50th anniversary wearing the tallest, brightest blonde beehive we’ve ever seen. (Seriously, it was basically as tall as Rockefeller Center.)

The Oscar winner looked beyond glamorous for the anniversary event, with the platinum blonde updo as the centerpiece of her red carpet look. The hair was teased alllll the way up at the crownn and pinned back, adding several inches to Cher’s height. Cascading tendril waves spilled out on either side of her face, hitting just below her collarbone and adding extra romance to the classic bombshell hairstyle.

Glam-wise, Cher went for a soft, all-over peachy palette, with barely-there blush and a touch of lip color to set off the platinum blonde updo. The hair color was a striking contrast against her sparkly bustier gown and faux-fur coat. This is a star, darlings!

Though Cher is best known for her long, jet-black hair, she does enjoy switching it up in favor of a good blonde from time to time. She typically prefers a white-blonde platinum, but for the 2024 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, the star changed things up with a dimensional, beachy blonde wig with a smudge root and blend of wheat, honey, and golden blonde tones. (She went back to black for her VS performance, however.)

Cher isn’t the only star who has embraced the retro beehive updo recently. We’ve seen it on Rihanna, who paired a messy upstyle with a bright, holiday-red lip. Beyoncé is also a fan, wearing platinum blonde “beyhives” throughout her Cowboy Carter album promo tour. The style is so perfect for an event like the SNL 50th anniversary special; it’s glamorous but doesn’t take itself too seriously and retro without looking costumey. Looks like it’s time to invest in a good teasing comb and some extra-hold hairspray!
