Bringing the Drama With Black & White Pieces

There is something so dramatic and elegant about black & white pieces. If I have a fancy event on my calendar and I’m not sure what to wear, I’ll often reach for something black and white, like the dress above (I wore this to a fundraiser and felt great in it!). It’s timeless and effortless, and feels more “me” than a little black dress. Truthfully, I’ve always felt that black near my face looks a bit harsh; this is a nice way to get that same polish without washing me out!

Truman Capote’s black & white ball is one of those historical events I really wish I was around for (being invited would be another thing, ha!) and remains one of my favorite themes for a party. Chic, chic, chic! If I had a black & white ball of my own to attend, I would most definitely wear this caftan. It’s incredible. While it’s still a splurge, it does happen to be 30% off right now.
Besides this gorgeous Cami dress, there are so many stunning options in stores right now. Two late additions to this roundup are this one from SIMONMILLER (adore the fabric!) and this very affordable option!
Outfit Details: Cami dress (wearing the 6), Aquazzura Sandals (the best classic special occasion sandal, I have in four colors)

Sidebar: I am such a massive fan of Agustina Bottoni’s glassware. I have two sets of martini glasses: these and these; they are among my favorites to pull out. Her glasses also make a special gift if you have a friend celebrating something big, like buying a home or getting engaged.
