‘Border 2’ Movie: Sunny Deol Says Soldier Uniform ‘Gives Strength’

MUMBAI – An emotional first look at the upcoming war drama Limit 2Star Sunny Deol revealed that wearing a soldier’s uniform is the core strength for his powerful performance. The actor made his first public appearance since the death of his father, screen legend Dharmendra, and was visibly moved as he delivered a patriotic dialogue for the film at an event in Mumbai.

“Whenever you wear the uniform, you feel an excitement and you feel like you are a soldier too,” shared Deol. “It just so happens that we are given the opportunity to describe the character of a soldier, and 99 percent of the time it is the uniform that gives us the strength to play the role.”

The Border 2 uniform provides authentic power for the Border 2 role

Deol explained that while actors do not undergo complete military training, the uniform itself bridges the emotional gap and allows them to authentically convey the spirit of a soldier. The sequel to the 1997 cult film Border is directed by Anurag Singh and will be in cinemas from 2019 January 23, 2026just before Republic Day.

Patriotism connects generations in Border 2

The actor also reflected on how love for the country remains unchanged across generations, a central theme in the film Border 2 movie. “The land is our mother,” Deol explained. “Today’s youth also consider it as their mother and they will protect it just like their fathers and grandfathers.”

The Edge 2 cast features a mix of established and emerging stars including Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, Ahan Shetty, Sonam Bajwa and Mona Singh. Producer Bhushan Kumar revealed that a recreated version of the original film’s iconic song, “Sandese has come” will be published on January 2, 2026and promised to reignite patriotic fervor ahead of the film’s premiere.
