How to Make Chicken Roll-Ups and Rice

This chicken casserole is super easy to make with only a few simple ingredients. Prepare a box of chicken Rice-a-Roni according to the package directions. Add cream of chicken soup and milk to the cooked rice and stir to combine. Spread the rice mixture into the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish and set aside.

Stir together shredded chicken, cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper in a medium bowl. Separate crescent rolls into 12 triangles. Top the large part of the crescent triangle with the chicken mixture. Roll crescent rolls up and place on top of the rice mixture.

Bake in a preheated oven until golden brown. Top the rolls with some extra shredded cheese and bake for an additional 5 minutes, or until the cheese has melted. Garnish with fresh parsley.

What to Serve with Chicken Rolls and Rice

This casserole has quickly earned a spot in our dinner rotation. I’ve made this at least three times this past month. We absolutely love it! This is a hearty and satisfying meal, but adding the right sides can elevate your plate even more.

  • A crisp side salad with fresh greens, cherry tomatoes, and a light vinaigrette adds a refreshing balance to the richness of the chicken and rice.
  •  Steamed or roasted vegetables like broccoli, carrots, or asparagus are also excellent choices to bring in some color and crunch.
  • If you’re craving something extra comforting, try a side of garlic bread or fluffy dinner rolls to soak up any sauce.
  • For a touch of sweetness, a fruit salad or roasted sweet potatoes can round out the flavors beautifully, making your meal feel complete.
