3 Tips to Achieve Your Fitness Goals for the New Year

11

New year, new you! So you’ve set your New Year’s fitness resolution. What can you do to maintain it?

Here are 3 ways to stay motivated and achieve your New Year’s fitness resolutions:

Track your progress

Most people make new resolutions around New Year’s, which means more people around you will be posting their progress or asking about yours. It can feel mentally taxing to have so much pressure put on you – get ahead of the competition and start four months before everyone else!

Find a training partner

Surround yourself with like-minded people who will motivate you to achieve your New Year’s fitness resolution! Start by bringing a good friend to your local gym or taking a fitness class to network with others, including your experienced trainers! Set a group goal and stay away from people who discourage you. Our WFCC family is always happy to help you on your fitness journey.

Reward your small successes

Whether it’s fitness or not, reward yourself when you achieve the goal of your session! Set a weekly goal to achieve your long-term goal. Let’s say your goal is to gain 10 pounds. For every pound you gain, reward yourself with something exciting, like a trip with friends, a new book, concert tickets, a new gym outfit, or whatever you think will motivate you! Remember that the desire to achieve the goals must come from within. So reconsider your goals and decide how they affect the people in your inner circle.
