Photos: Dehd Celebrates ‘Poetry’ with Spun Out and Grelley Duvall at Chicago’s Thalia Hall
Earlier this year, Dehd – the Chicago trio comprised of Emily Kempf (bass guitar, vocals), Jason Balla (guitar, vocals), and Eric McGrady (drums) – released their stellar album, Poetry. In celebration of the new LP, the band embarked on a North American Tour which included three dates at Chicago’s Thalia Hall to conclude the trek.
On Nov. 13, during the second of the three shows, the fuzzy surf rockers treated fans to a setlist that included new tracks like “Don’t Look Down,” “Mood Ring,” and “Necklace” along with fan favorites like “Window,” “Nobody,” and “Stars.” Chicago’s own Spun Out were on hand with their psych rock sounds to open up the show and Grelley Duvall served as the evening’s host all night long bringing humor, songs, and even puppetry to the stage.
Dehd is set to conclude their North American Tour with a third and final show in Chicago on Nov. 14 before heading out to Europe in mid-March. Check out photos from the Nov. 13 performance below and click here for more info about the band.
