Latanya Mapp, the new CEO and President of Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors (RPA), and author of The Everyday Feminist, discusses the importance of she wants bold, powerful, and well-funded women leading the charge to strengthen philanthropy; and is working to achieve gender equality and parity in funding.

“Women are not only playing a vital role as voters, organizers, and elected officials, they are also shaping (or, reshaping) philanthropic mindsets, practices and solutions. ” Latanya says. “Women are critical to the fate and health of democracy,”

Further, Latayna is encouraging funders to intentionally invest in leaders of color, particularly women, because when they do, the results are transformative. “These leaders bring a unique perspective, often informed by lived experiences of marginalization within the systems they seek to improve, and their leadership fosters a more inclusive and equitable approach to strengthening democracy, ensuring all voices are heard and represented.”
