Blue Bloods fans are “devastated” and are being asked to sign a petition as their favorite show officially comes to an end
Three days ago, Blue Bloods announced on their X page that they were filming their final season, which is scheduled to air in February next year. However, the announcement sparked mass discontent.
“Blue Bloods” has been an all-time favorite on CBS for 13 seasons. However, on November 20, they announced that they would be filming season 14 as the final season of the series. They also shared that the final season would air in two parts. The first part will be published in February, the second in autumn next year.
The post from some other fans took it a step further.
One fan said they were “devastated” by the end of the series, but hoped that each storyline would conclude well. Another fan admitted that “Blue Bloods” was their favorite show even though they didn’t watch TV often. Another fan of X said:
“Please sign [the] Petition to save [“Blue Bloods.”]”
This post only received 43 views, but the link to the petition shows that the petition has been signed over 200 times, with the current goal being 500 signatures. The person who started the petition stated that they felt there was more to explore in the show.
Some fans didn’t acknowledge the end of the series. One person said that it got better with each season and that they hoped it would be renewed for a fifteenth season soon. Another fan said they were sad about the end of Blue Bloods because they thought it was the last good TV show.
The final season
Many shows experienced a production pause in recent months due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, but all have now started filming again, including “Blue Bloods.”
“Blue Bloods” and “Young Sheldon” are filming their final seasons. The final season will consist of 18 episodes, with the first ten airing on February 16, 2024 and the remaining eight airing in the fall of next year.
CBS Entertainment President Amy Reisenbach and CBS Studios President David Stapf released a joint statement saying:
““Blue Bloods” will forever remain a beloved part of the CBS legacy. Since its premiere, it has dominated Friday nights with unprecedented dominance, establishing itself as a pillar of our successful lineup with an exceptionally loyal fan base.”
They also thanked the cast for everything they did during the show’s run. They then thanked the writing teams for how they wrote the show and what they did for the fans.
Tom Selleck released a statement saying he would miss working on the show and seeing his co-stars every day. He also expressed gratitude that the show honored the men and women who worked to protect society.
