Timothée Chalamet went without the jersey for his first Wonka appearance – see photos
The Wonka press train has officially begun, which means the Timothée Chalamet fashion train is also on the move. Over the years, the actor has become a true fashionista, never afraid to take a risk or try something out of the ordinary, including red Haider Ackermann halter tops, floral suits and pearl necklaces – and, of course, his reputation ahead he goes to the Wonka press tour.
For his first official Wonka appearance in London, England, Timothée Chalamet ditched the character’s signature top hat and velvet jacket in favor of a striped Alexander McQueen suit with a twist. As Vogue noted, Chalamet attended a photocall for the upcoming movie musical in a black pinstriped McQueen suit, but it wasn’t the usual blazer and pants combo. For one thing, Chalamet didn’t wear a shirt under his jacket, eschewing the traditional shirt in favor of, well, skin.
The jacket also featured panels of fabric near the hips that turned into long tails. Instead of dress shoes, Chalamet paired the suit with black combat boots and tucked the hems of his pants into the boots to really show them off. Sunglasses, a necklace and a few silver rings completed the whole thing perfectly.
