The fabrics are soft yet lightweight (I will sweat in anything too thick!!), the fits are relaxed but flattering, and everything feels like pajamas without looking like them. Consider this my mini Gap Factory loungewear review: these are the comfy, elevated basics I’ve been living in lately (and THESE pants might just be my most favorite). If there’s one outfit formula that’s been saving me lately, it’s a matching set (top + bottoms) in a rich, fall-hued color. It’s coordinated, effortless, and actually brings a little bit of that fall-time-joy to my process of getting dressed that I’ve been so desperately wanting.
The Matching Set That Feels Chic (Even for Drop-Off)
The CashSoft collection has been a favorite of mine for years. The pieces are available in a bunch of mix-and-match options which makes this whole “getting dressed for busy fall mornings” thing a total breeze. These options from Gap Factory, specifically, are super soft and actually even a bit stretchy.
If you’ve never tried any CashSoft pieces, think cashmere but better. Why is it better? Because they have the same plush, brushed-softness but you can easily toss them into the washing machine without worry. The pieces are all very lightweight and layer-able, too, so if you’re living somewhere that does feel like fall? Add a long wrap coat on top and your fave beanie.
Choosing a color in this matching set was the hardest part because all of them are so gorgeous. I ended up with this blazing red because not only did it feel festive for fall, but I’m already imagining it on repeat throughout the holiday season. I could add bow-adorned heels or sharp toed boots and some fantastic jewelry and even get away with it for a casual holiday party!
Sizing notes: I was pleasantly surprised that these pants worked even though there are no tall inseams and I’m 5’10” – they’re actually exactly as I would want them to fit when running around outside the house. I sized up from my typical large to an XL for the hoodie for a little extra slouch and boxy character, but I’d say both pieces run TTS.
The Sweatpants I’d Actually Wear Out of the House
I thought I was totally over sweatpants. The jogger look has been feeling a bit outdated, but also, I’ve never loved the tight elastic bands around my ankles. THEN the barrel silhouette was introduced, and I fell in love with sweats all over again.

These are sweatpants that I actually feel cool wearing out of the house. Their modern shape and slouchy fit are easy and incredibly comfortable. I’ve tried a few pairs from various brands and this one from Gap Factory is the most lightweight, making them my go-to choice while the weather is still hot.

It doesn’t hurt that they were actually made to be a perfect matching set with the hoodie I’ve been wearing on repeat since spring (note: the color online appears grey, but its true to the “sailor blue” name in real life). When I tell you this is the outfit I could wear 3x in one week…I’m not kidding. Just add cool sneakers, layer with a tee, and throw on a hat on the days you’re feeling sporty.

Sizing notes: I’ve only had barrel sweatpants in a long or tall inseam, but just like the ribbed sweater pants above, these ended up perfect in the regular inseam! The waistband is easy and relaxed, and while I wouldn’t personally size down, you might consider doing so if you’re petite. The sweatshirt runs slouchy in your regular size, but I still went up in size to have it dramatically oversized.
The Velour Pants That Make Loungewear Feel Luxe
Velour’s having a quiet comeback, but not in the 2000s, rhinestone-logo kind of way. Think soft, drapey, slightly elevated…the kind of fabric that feels indulgent yet totally wearable.
Gap Factory’s recycled pull-on wide-leg velour pants hit that perfect middle ground. They’re plush and cozy on the outside while being silky soft on the inside against your skin, and the subtle sheen gives them a dressed-up lounge vibe. Plus, they have a pull on elastic waistband WITH a hidden interior drawstring (my fave!), making them even easier and comfier to wear.
These are that rare “I could nap in them, but also meet a friend for coffee” kind of pants. They are the fresh, luxurious update my loungewear has been so desperately needing since loungewear is basically all I’m wearing at the moment. A total master class in feeling put-together when my insides scream LAZY, lol. Honestly, I think these are my favorite item I’ve grabbed for fall thus far.
I’m loving them with a boxy, easy top, like this CashSoft sweater or even a simple, chic tee. A boot would be entirely polished paired with them, but a ballet flat is my top choice while the weather is still mild.
Sizing notes: The tall inseam gave these pants the most spectacular drape around my shoes that makes me giddy when looking in a mirror. I’m obsessed. But they would also work for heights taller than me for a more proper top-of-foot length. The waist was relaxed, and I did rely on tightening the inside drawstring a bit, but I wouldn’t personally size down.
All of these cozy loungewear pieces from Gap Factory are ones that I immediately started wearing once they were delivered. They’re soft, moveable for a busy mom life, lightweight and breathable for the lingering warmth. Plus, they’re nap ready. It’s a win all around.
