Paul & Joe Shimmering Eye Colours Review

[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] If you tend to be a bit imprecise when you apply your eye-shadow, I think the Paul & Joe Shimmering Eye Colours might provide some welcome relief for you. You can literally just wipe your (clean – I don’t need to lecture, I know) finger across the top and take it straight to your lid. It’s a cushiony texture and despite looking highly pigmented, is somewhat pared back and gentle in colour.

I have shades 07, Maple French (L) and 05, Coucher de Soliel (R) which are ideal autumnal shades with a kick of shimmer to liven things up. They both have warmth and eye-widening capabilities – if you have blue or green eyes Maple French is your treat because the copper tones will intensify your natural iris colours. Us brown eyes have to do without the mad level intensity and make do with a metallic shimmer that gives warmth and brightness – ah well.

05 Coucher de Soliel (above 07 Maple French) is the please-all shade – something approaching a neutral (if you have lighter tones, and a contrast if you have deeper tones), it’s peachy in nature and a very easy wear. The best thing about the Paul & Joe Shimmering Eye Colours is that the shimmer doesn’t seem to drop. I very distinctly remember that in the days that Jeanine Lobel owned Stila, there was a product designed to drop down your face ‘like a constellation’. Unless you were very up to date on your make up trends, it looked a lot like your make up had gone horribly awry. Ditto the ‘wet’ mascara that made your eyes look as though ‘you’ve been crying’ – how that was a sell I really can’t remember. Sticky AF is what I do remember.

Coucher de Soliel is on my left and Maple French on the right. So, if what you need is an autumn brightener, you’re in safe hands with these two little beauties which you can find HERE for £17. The one thing I would suggest, particularly if your lids are oily, is that you use an eye primer to extend their longevity.
