Weekend Finds: Beach Essentials, Beauty & Summer Outfit Staples

92

Happy weekend, guys! It’s officially my turn to hop on for my first-ever weekend post while S is away. Mwahaha.

If you happen to care about what I’m up to: I just got down the shore (said geographically incorrect specifically for Linzi) for my family beach trip that I look forward to every single year. There’s absolutely zero things better than waking up to the sweet little voice of my nephew saying, “Nae Nae, time to get up! What should we play?” It’s always nice to be back under one roof with my parents and brother, too. The belly laughs are unmatched, so I soak it all in as much as possible.

While I’m not a beach girl at all (easily burn, terrified of the seagulls and the ocean, and hate the feeling of sand…I know I’m a real ray of sunshine), I do still go. If my nephew calls — I’m there. The one thing that makes the hot sun a little more bearable (and I’m serious about this): this sunscreen. It’s the only sunscreen I’ll put on my face. Any other brand I’ve tried (so far) just irritates it. I think I’ll try out this face powder, next.

More beach essentials and fun stuff, below!

If baggy pants aren’t your thingthese GAP linen-blend pants are a little more fitted throughout the bum and hips, then flow out (but still feel more straight-leg than baggy). I just got both the gingham and white in regular. I usually go for petite, but wanted them to hit right below my ankle, and they do. I’ll be wearing them all week.

It’s official. After wearing the same flip-flops that I stole from my mom years ago, and trying out this $4 pair from Old Navy…it’s time for me to get the Reefs. I’m giving in.

Gift-giving is our love language. I just gifted this swimsuit to my mom and so far, it’s her new fave. She gifted both the non-crotchet version of this J.Crew one that’s been my go-to for a few summers now, and this one in black (love this one, too). Both are packed.

The sale tempted me. I got these fisherman sandals for $18 from Old Navy. They’re pretty comfortable right off the bat (which I say, never), but updates to come as I wear them throughout the week on the boardwalk and all. Fingers crossed.

Beach reads. I started this one (recommended by S), but stopped when I got busy. So, now I’m saving it for the beach days and late-night porch hangs. The parts that I’ve read so far, though, love

From my fellow camera-shy friend…Ang just ordered these sandals from Quince to try out. Since I’m not one to talk, I won’t ask her for a video review, butttt…maybe a TME Instagram update? Stay tuned.

Barn coat of dreams. I cannot stop eyeing this barn jacket in the denim. It’s exactly what I’ve been looking for — little details and all. Tempted by ‘Ecru’ and ‘Deep Green’, too.

Another FP jacket…because I obviously went down a FP jacket rabbit hole, and now I’m eyeing this cardi/jacket situation, too. I *think* I like the ’Tea’ and black colors best, but the other colors are super fun, too. GOSH, I need fall weather immediately.

For the plus size babes, but under $100. I was perusing ASOS, more specifically, their plus size section. It’s sooo refreshing to see actually pretty, trendy and not dowdy options for the plus size queens. Here’s what I’m peaking at: these flowy pants, this dress, this maxi skirt, this gingham set, this vintagey bomber, and this tee. Don’t overlook ASOS! Even if you’re shopping straight-sizing, they’ve got some great stuff.

The ballet flat of sneakers. adidas Tokyo (shockingly eyeing the silver, but can’t go wrong with the neutrals) + Gazelle Lo Pro (in ‘Almost Yellow’).

For my sensitive skin crew – I just got this serum recently after one of our interns (hi, Poppy!) suggested the brand for my rosacea, and I’m already in love. When I tell you absolutely nothing works for my extremely sensitive skin, I mean…nothing. works. This stuff not only helped clear up a lot of the rosacea bumps + redness and moisturized my skin, but it didn’t cause a reaction the way most products do. My skin is still a work in progress, but wow does it already feel 10x better.

THESE LIPSTICKS. S had gifted these lipsticks to me a little bit ago (thank you, S!!) and they’re unlike any lip product I’ve tried. It feels completely weightless on your lips and glides on suuuper easily. You can dab on more less depending how much color you want. It’s a mystery to me because they’re not glossy, they’re not the texture of a balm…it’s almost like air. Yep, I guess that’s what weightless means. You just have to try them to see what I mean.

If you made it this far…gold star (and thank you!!)
