TV producer, actress and author Tshiamo Modisane about how to write her debut book

93

At the beginning of this year, the television producer, actress and author Tshiamo Modisane published a memoir who described her journey to healing past and trauma in detail. When Tshiamo grew up, she always felt that she was born in the wrong body and commissioned the wrong biological gender. The true freedom finally appeared on her door when she changed her name of ‘Kgosi’ in ‘Tshiamo’ and femininity completely hugged – this despite the rejection with which it was confronted by relatives.

At Penning I Bin Tshiamo: My trip to self-acceptance and femininity, she says: “I call it my scale and healing phase. I cried as much while I wrote this book. I wanted to be as honest and authentic as I could possibly be. Was it ready to experience some of the past injuries again? Surely not,” I wrote most of the book. But nothing could have prepared me for the warm feedback that I got from all corners of the country and the world. “Below is it in her wellness routine.

The best way to start my day …

With the prayer, a scripture that then read depending on the weather, I will go outside to train – something I really love. If that has happened, I deal with e -mails, calls and deadlines. On a really good day I usually sneak for lunch or dinner.

The best way to shake off a bad day …

A good worship song, a sermon cherry sermon and a long call with my manager friend Makgotso Kgooe usually lift me out of a bad room. And if one does not work, a cuddly session with my two fur babies – oreo and pompom – definitely makes the trick over a series.

Commercial, preferred, healthy meal …

I am obsessed with grilled fish or a Thai chicken salad. There has never been a week in which I cannot organize myself in a Nandos chicken salad. In 2021, after I had arrived, I met my book – as part of my healing trip I decided to clean myself from red meat and to follow a strictly pescavarian diet. This helped me to heal both physically and mentally. My weight fell on a size that I always wanted.

Wellness rule that you secretly break all the time …

Sugar! I have a sweet tooth and will not even lie about it. It is a property that I inherited from my late mother. I will refuse everything and everything except a piece of cake or ice cream [chuckles].

If you could drain any personality traits from you and sell as a wellness product, what would that be?

Light to detail. I always want to do everything right. Form and technology are important to me during training. Friendliness too – I think the key to healthy skin is to be friendly to people.

What is a strange combination of healthy eating, what you swear by, even though everyone else thinks is disgusting?

I don’t have any. However, I believe that I don’t skip breakfast. When I skip breakfast, I think that I am less effective and do even fewer workouts in the gym.

Proof a song to your morning routine …

Say a small prayer by Aretha Franklin. It literally summarizes my mood every morning. I always imagine I sing it for my baby – with my husband in the shower it sings too.

Road Running, Weightlow or Yoga/Pilates – which would you get married, date and ditch? And why?

  • Marry: Weightlifting. Nothing brings you the shaped, tinted body like weight life. It only reminds me that I am the girl!
  • Date: Run street. I am a dog mother, which means only endless walks that often lead to chasing my fur babies.
  • Dig: Yoga. I can never do the river right, which emphasizes me because I have rhythm. Apart from the breathing techniques that I have now taken to my daily routine, I always put between children and Lotus pose.

Skin care routine you swear by …

Seren! Your skin will thank you. Coupled with concerns about your business and drinking water brings you on the right track [chuckles]. I hacked and switch between serums, but my three best favorites are neutro -boost superared serum, estée lauder advanced night repair serum and the Lancôme Advanced Génifique youth activating concentrate.
