“The Summer I Turned Pretty” Mom Style: Dress Like Laurel & Beck
If you’re a 30-something (or 40- or 50-something) mom who secretly — or not so secretly — loves The Summer I Turned Pretty, welcome. You’re in good company.
Even though TSITP is technically a teenage love story, there’s something about the hit Amazon Prime series that feels like it was made for us. Maybe it’s the swoon-worthy Taylor Swift soundtrack, or the nostalgia of watching a story based on books written when most millennials were still in high school.
But the real surprise of The Summer I Turned Pretty? The impeccable mom fashion. Specifically, the effortless, wildly different styles of Laurel and Susannah (better known as “Beck”). While everyone else is watching for Belly, Conrad, and Jeremiah’s tangled love triangle, I’m over here studying every single outfit these two stylish moms wear.

How To Dress Like Laurel & Beck From The Summer I Turned Pretty
Laurel’s wardrobe is a minimalist dream: sleek black tanks, fitted jeans, breezy linen, and quiet luxury neutrals that somehow scream confidence without trying too hard.

Beck, on the other hand, is the ultimate East Coast boho beach mom — think whimsical florals, painterly overalls, statement accessories, and the perfect lived-in blouse for sipping rosé on a porch.

Their styles are distinct, but both are totally drool-worthy — and 100% replicable. Let’s break them down, WITH outfit ideas we can actually wear in real life.
12 Outfits From The Moms of The Summer I Turned Pretty That I Want To Recreate
Sadly, little is known about the exact pieces Laurel and Beck wear (and google image search didn’t have much info, either, unless simply informing that the exact piece is long out of stock). But with a lot of web browsing and a plain old obsession with clothes, I found pieces that are just as good (if not better) to recreate our favorite TSITP mom outfits all summer long.
Layered Summer Tops + Worn-in Jeans

There’s so many looks I love from both Laurel and Beck, but this is easily the episode where I loved what they were both wearing at the same time – the combination of their outfits is so summery, easy, and timeless. I wanted to jump off of the couch and wear them both immediately.
I’m pretty certain Beck wears the Doen June Top here, but they currently seem to have only a few basic neutrals in stock (for that same color and similar blouse vibes, this is my top pick).
Laurel’s perfect jeans are hard to nail down, with that vintage wash and slight rip in the knee, but I would go for this high rise pair, or this mid-rise pair to get as close as possible without, you know, actually sourcing vintage jeans.

A Simple Tank + Soft Army Green Pants
This photo is a great representation of Beck & Laurel’s individual styles at a glance. Beck’s dress is stunning (there’s a few on eBay if you’re in need) but truthfully, I’m more interested in Laurel’s – yet again – laid back, easy combo of a tank and soft pants.

Oversized, Boxy Black Top + Jeans

I appreciate how Laurel switches up her black tops. It’s not always a slim tank, sometimes it’s a perfectly oversized, swoopy sleeve top that turns heads more than you would think. While we can’t see the jeans in this image, they’re another perfectly vintage-esque straight leg pair that fits like a glove – classic Laurel.

The Perfect Slouchy Crewneck
If there’s one thing Laurel has taught me, it’s to not overlook the perfect wardrobe basics.
The hardest part about a roundup of TSITP fashion is how little images there are of Laurel + Beck’s outfits. This sweatshirt, when in motion, is amazing. I found my eyes trailing it wherever Laurel was on screen. It’s that perfectly drapey, yet not too oversized fit that makes you want to wear it 3x a week (minimum).

Easy Overalls (Worn over…everything!)

What makes me truly fall in love with outfit styling on a show, is when they personalize the characters clothes so deeply that you find them repeating the outfit throughout the series, as if they were actually re-wearing their most loved wardrobe items. We see this with Laurel and her jeans + a black top, and with Beck and her overalls.
What I appreciate most about Beck’s overalls is that they have a slimmer leg. I’m a fan of the wider, looser denim styles, but on overalls it can feel like too much, as if you’re being swallowed up by them. Options that lean straight leg are timeless.

All White: Overalls + A Comfy Tee
Free People’s Ziggy overalls feel the most like Becks with their slimmer, cropped leg, but when we look for white overalls in general, there’s SO much to choose from right now. I’ve hemmed and hawed about buying a pair all summer, but it was this simple pairing of the white on white that made me have-to-have-’em.

A Simple Black Summer Maxi Dress

Whether it’s the simple, minimal straps, the long breezy length, or that open back tie situation, I love everything going on with Laurel’s dress. Throw it over a swimsuit or wear it to dinner, and take notes on Laurel’s hair in a bun – it makes this concept even more chic.

An Easy Linen Dress (I love the red!)

There’s no better piece to ride out the rest of summer in than an easy linen dress. While Laurel’s black dress would no doubt be a wardrobe workhorse, I’m more smitten by the red version on Beck.

A Show-Stopping Gown (to wear where? Idk but I want it)
Who am I kidding? I have nowhere to wear a ball gown. But this piece is so stunning, I had to include it in this roundup…just for fun!
