Oh man, do I love a lady jacket. I’ve always loved a fancy little jacket, but as I get older, I find that wearing it with jeans feels the most me. Also, now, staunchly in my mid-forties, they look a little less ironic and “cool” than they did in my twenties and thirties. So pairing a more conservative-looking jacket with denim and an interesting accessory helps keep the look fresh and fun vs. matriarchal or stuffy. In the look above, it’s the red tassel clutch. For the second look, it’s sheer socks and an interesting shoe.
Today I am styling two of my favorites. This perfect taffetta jacket from Donni, and this chic zip-up number from Aligne.
