In the rush of modern life, mornings often begin with alarms, screens and hurried schedules. Ayurveda,India’s ancient science of life offers a gentler and more conscious alternative-DINACHARYA, the daily rhythm that connects you with nature’s intelligence, and is widely recommended in many ayurvedic treatment centre programs.

Dinacharya ,according to ayurveda, is a daily routine that promotes self care through different daily activities. It emphasizes the importance of the health of a healthy person and curing the disease of an ill. The  Ayurvedic practice of Dinacharya refers to daily self care routines which are cleansing and rejuvenating.

It comprises of waking up in the early morning, praising God, Drinking water early morning after wakeup malamootravisarjana,cleaning of teeth, tongue scraping, cleaning of face, mouth gargling, application of collyrium, nasal medication, medicated smoking, oiling of head, physical exercise, bath, proper dressing, smearing body with perfume, proper food intake, chewing of betel leaves ,attending prescribed profession, eating at night and finally proper sleep. By following daily regimens(dinacharya) one will be able to follow a healthy lifestyle thereby maintaining health.These practices are also encouraged during panchakarma treatment in Mumbai to support deeper detoxification and balance.

  1. BRAHAMA MUHURTA JAGARANA:

Wake up early in the morning at Brahmamuhurta. Brahmamuhurta means 1 to 1.5 hrs before sunrise. It  is the most satvik and peaceful time of the day, satva  guna prominent, the best time to meditate and study. The body is well rested after night’s sleep  and the mind is alert , focused and peaceful. It is the most pure time of the day when the atmosphere is calm and minimal pollution.

  1. USHNAPANAM:

Drinking water in an empty stomach which is lukewarm. This will help to kill unwanted bacteria present in buccal cavity and maintain oral hygiene, release constipation.

  1. MALOTSARG:

Excretion should be done by keeping in silence, not paying attention to other works.It is included in daily routine because holding of feces causes cramps in the calves ,headache etc.

  1. DANTHA DHAVANA:

It may be of arka trees.

Main properties :

Rasa of dantun : kashaya,tikta,katu kapha nashak.

The tip of the tooth should be soft,not dry,or hard

5. JIHWA NIRLEKHANA:

Copper or steel tongue should be used.Front part should not be sharp and crooked in shape.It should destroy mouth disease,tongue disease, and bad breath.

6.AACHAMANA:

7.ANJANA:

It is good to apply a collyrium called sauviranjana to the eyes daily. Rasajanam should be applied once in a week and at night time.

Time to apply anjanam: Early in the morning.

8.NASYA:

Medicine or any kind of medicated oil, choorna is used through the nostrils called Nasya karma

After anjana,Anutaila  is prescribed for nasya.

9.KAVALA AND GANDHUSHA:

The quantity of medicine or liquid which is kept only in the mouth and cannot be rotated here and there is called Gandhusha and which is kept only in mouth and rotated here and there is called KABALA.

It gives strength to the mandible,clarity of mouth,lightness and clarity of sense organs and gives good taste.

10.DHUMPANA:

Inhaling medicated dhuma.If this dhuma received through the nostrils it is dhumapana.

It is the best way to get rid of highly polluted kapha located in the head.

11 .ABHYANGA:

Should be resorted to daily,it wards off old age,exertion, and aggravation of vata,good vision,nourishment to body,long life,good sleep,good skin.

It should be done specially to the head,ears and feet.

12.VYAYAMA:

Lightness (of the body),ability to do hard work, keen digestion, depletion of excess fat, stable,distinct physique from physical exercise

13.SNANA:

Improves appetite, sexual vigor, life span, valor, strength removes itching,dirt ,exhaustion, sweat, stupor, thirst ,burning sensation and sin

14.UDVARTANA:

Massaging the body with soft fragrant powder mitigates kapha,liquefies the fat, produces stability of the body parts and excellence of skin.

15.BHOJANAVIDHI:

In the middle of the first  hour of the night,food should be consumed in lesser quantities than during the day. Slow digestive food should be avoided at night.

16.SHYANA:

The early night and early morning are for the practice of veda study ,so the middle time of six hours is considered suitable for sleeping.

3pm-6pm   Ayurvedic therapy focusing on your area of health concern

 (30 minutes)

6:30pm-7:30pm Meditation If you want more inner peace, well-being

 and happiness you must learn to meditate

7:30-8:30pm Dinner Light, freshly prepared, easily digestible food

 that will help you achieve a good night sleep.

10pm   Sleep
