Suqqu Aqufons Tuning Gel Review
[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] This week I’ve gone from choosing a new loo at B&Q to attending a super-glam make up masterclass with Val Garland taking us all through a Suqqu make up look. This is a perfect snapshot of my life as a content creator, beauty writer and completely average woman!

At the event – hosted by Jo Good – Val showed us how to prep skin best for make up. Now, trust me, I think I know everything there is to know about skin prep but the Suqqu product that I think is genuinely that rarest of things, a real make up artist secret, is Aqufons Tuning Gel. If you don’t like products that you can feel on your skin, this isn’t for you, and I’d be wary of wearing it on a hot day when I can’t bear to feel anything at all on my complexion, but as a radiance boost – oh my! It’s a new level.

You apply roughly a pea-sized amount of the with your fingertips – and it will feel a bit filmy – before applying your base. It gives a non-greasy glow that I think is best underneath a base but you could wear it without any base and just apply your make up, blush, bronzer etc as normal.

What the Aqufons does is give a cushiony layer for your base to glide over that makes your skin look as though you’ve been drinking water for 24 hours. It’s just that plump softness that hydrated skin can have that gives an overall look of a happy and radiance complexion.

Above is outside in the cold light of a grey day and away from the flattering lights. Because Aqufons IS actually hydrating your skin, when you take it off, you won’t feel any dryness at all. Or at least, I didn’t. The make up artist who was looking after our table said it’s like a leave-on face mask and I’d say that’s a pretty good summation of the product.

I’ve had a good look around the web to see if it’s on offer anywhere – it would be great if Suqqu did a smaller size tube – and it’s not so the best I can do is send you to Selfridges where the postage isn’t quite as awful as Harrods. Aqufons Tuning Gel is £54 HERE and best for dryer skin or skin that isn’t as glowy as you’d like it to be.
