Selena Gomez’s Nails Are in Their Lovergirl Era—See the Photos
Red is the color of passion, romance, and L-O-V-E, which is probably why Selena Gomez can’t stop wearing it on her nails.
Gomez got engaged to producer Benny Blanco in December in sheer, chiffon pink nails, but since then, she’s leaned all the way into her lovergirl era with plenty of siren-red manis, including the one she wore at the SAG Awards with matching red lipstick and the ’80s-inspired stiletto set for the “Sunset Blvd” music video.
The star, whose joint album with Blanco, I Said I Love You First, dropped today (March 21), wore yet another bright red manicure while promoting the album in New York City. Her nails weren’t quite as long as they were in the “Sunset Blvd” video, where she grew them out into long stilettos to fit the ‘80s vibes. This time, they were a medium length shaped into a classic almond, then painted with a scarlet shade so bright it looked almost neon in the camera flash.
But this isn’t just a simple red nail! It’s the red nail: the color of the Valentine’s Day aisle at the drugstore, a “revenge dress” for a hot date, or a Ferrari sports car racing down the streets of Los Angeles at night. Given that Gomez and Blanco released an entire album about their love story, it makes sense that Gomez would want to wear the most romantic nail color possible, and you can’t go wrong with a glamorous lipsticky shade like this one.
