SAIE Beauty Review | British Beauty Blogger

[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] Saie is not a new brand – it began life in 2019 – but it’s new to me and I’m immediately drawn in by the product names – yes please to Dew Bronze and Dew Blush, Glossy Bounce and Glowy Super Gel. Brands, of course, don’t spring from nowhere – founder, Laney Crowell, is ex-Estee Lauder and initial seed funding came from Unilever Ventures and Gwyneth Paltrow (Saie launched exclusively to Goop). Further funding rounds have brought on more investors subsequently. The premise of Saie is ‘clean’ beauty – a term that we all know has no clear definition in beauty. Before we eye-roll, this brand does at least make the effort to include safe, if not ground breaking, ingredients, to create some rather exciting products. Before we scoff at the 1% of profits donates to good causes – The Coral Restoration Foundation and The Rozilia Project – this brand is estimated to have achieved $100 million in sales in 2024. For every product sold, Saie contributes to impact programs that remove plastic waste from the environment and work with Pact Collective to recycle finished products. Ten out of ten for effort so far on the surface of things.

One of the things that strikes me about Saie is that texturally, it’s everything older women are looking for, but we might not necessarily be drawn to it on first sight.

[Spicy and Poppy Dew Blush]

I love the Dew Blush because it blends out to a translucent gleam for a very lightful hint of colour – don’t add too much: you can always add more but taking it away is a pain in the a** . Blending is super easy with either fingers or a brush and it feels this is good timing for these blushes (there are Bronzers too with the same texture) because they’re very summery and fresh looking.

[Dip and Play]

The Glossy Bounce Hydrating Lip Oils are *chef’s kiss*. These are the perfect textures for me – shiny, a hint of colour, lip smoothing and happy making. The shades come out far less intense on the lip than they look in the bottle – same with the blush actually (don’t be put off how lively Poppy looks – on the cheeks it’s lovely), so you’re getting nuances of colour that are enhancing rather than distracting. Also, they don’t really taste of anything which is a bonus.

[Glowy Super Gel in Warmglow]

As far as Glowy Super Gel goes, I added it to my new Dior Foundation before applying to my face and then wished I hadn’t – I should have added it to a lighter base for make-under skin. It’s quite hard to describe how juicy this makes your skin look – it’s quite wet on application and you don’t need a lot but once you’ve worked it into your skin, the light bounce is immediate.

In the pictures above, aside from the lip oils, I’m wearing Dior foundation with Glowy Super Gel in Warmglow and Dew Blush in Poppy.

I think Saie is very reasonably priced – it sits one notch away from high street and two notches away from luxury. The Glowy Super Gel is £22 , the Glossy Bounce Lip Oils are £18 and the Cheek Dew is £20. Everything is HERE.
