Ruby Hammer Top Picks | British Beauty Blogger

[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] It’s that time of year again when there are few launches (brands are waiting for the shift in season so there will be an onslaught in September) so brands like to remind us of existing products. Generally, I don’t like to go back on products that I’ve featured before but when a bag of Ruby Hammer products turned up, I really wanted to because I have a couple of favourites that are worth writing about more than once.

I’ll start with the Mascara & Brow (£28) double ender. At one end, a brow serum with a fine brush to tame wayward hairs on the go, and at the other end (my favourite part) a mascara with a brush so slender that it catches and coats the underside of every lash right down to the root – something that’s impossible with bigger wands. Go under, then go over and you have a wonderfully spiky, coated and defined lash fringe. It’s not for you if you love a big and bold lash, but it is for you if you have very fine lashes and prefer a understated lash look. I’ve already asked Ruby to make a single tube (without the brow product) but the wand is so delicate that making it any longer is technically difficult. I feel sure it will happen.

My other favourite is The Lip Serum Balm in Red (£18). A lot of reds shift orange but this is a blue red – personally, I am better with orange or warm tones but realise it’s become more difficult to find a good cool toned red balm, especially in a stick format, so appreciate its presence in the market generally (although I’ve applied it horribly). The one I wear most often is the FX Gold (not shown) which just gives your lips a wash of golden luminosity that’s near perfect.

It seems we’ve got some new product from Ruby to look forward to. In the Lip Serum Balm, there is a Coral and a Deep Nude coming, in Cheek Colours, expect to see three new shades: Tawny, Peach and Bronze, and in the Precision Eyeliner an updated formula for a smoother glide and a new shade – brown. Ruby’s products are HERE .
