Oak Essentials Review – The Stripe

Oak Essentials is a brand I tried this year, and have completely fallen in love with. It just looked like another minimally-packaged, vanity-friendly bodycare brand that didn’t interest me too much until I tried it. For me, my love of the brand started with the body oil. I think I received it in a gift bag; I don’t even remember. Next, I tried the heavenly dream bath soak. Now, I’ve tried pretty much all of the brand’s body products and truly: each one is better than the next!
Oak Essentials Review
If you’re not familiar, Oak Essentials is Jenni Kayne’s clean skincare brand. This brand (founded in 2021) aims to be luxurious yet uncomplicated (my favorite combination for beauty), and has quickly become a bodycare favorite. Let’s talk about everything I’ve tried.
Dew Body Oil
This was my entry to the brand. I’ve never tried a body oil that I like so much! I think it is because it sinks in so quickly. Like, immediately! But it’s potent–it leaves my skin like silk. I am a huge fan of this. If you are someone who thinks body oil isn’t for you (too greasy, etc.), give this a try. I’d venture to say that it’s the best body oil on the market.
Luminous Body Lotion
A nice, hydrating body lotion that makes the perfect companion for the body oil. I like that it’s packed with anti-aging ingredients and soothing Blue Tansy. It’s very lightweight. If my skin is dehydrated or dry, I like to layer it with the dew body oil. The combination is heavenly!
Perfecting Body Scrub
This is my favorite body scrub! It has the perfect balance of slip and grit, which can be hard to find. Too much slip = an oily mess and not enough exfoliation. Too much grit = it’s harder to scrub your skin and it makes a mess. This has the perfect balance. It’s super hydrating and silky (you can probably skip body lotion afterward), but does a great job exfoliating and sloughing off dead skin cells. I keep one in each bathroom.
Dream Bath Soak
This bath soak was the second thing I tried from the brand. You know how much I love a soak in the tub. It’s packed with magnesium (great for both sleep and sore muscles) and smells incredible (it’s very calming!). Twenty minutes of soaking in the tub with this before bed = I will sleep like an angel.
Cloud Foaming Bath Oil
If you want to really up your bath game, add this bath oil to the tub with the dream bath soak. If I could only choose one bath soak, it would be the soak vs. the oil (just because there are lots of less expensive oils you can buy), but together they make for a pretty heavenly experience. I like how hydrating this is, and also that it foams up so you get bubbles! It smells great too: lavender and sage.
Microbiome Balancing Deodorant
This deodorant was the only product I’ve tried that I didn’t love. It just didn’t work for me. Deodorant is so personal, though; everyone’s body chemistry is different. I wanted to love it as it smells really really good and includes skin-soothing ingredients like Blue Tansy (great for sensitive underarms), but I was stinky after a few hours.
