Must-See Chicago Concerts and Comedy Shows in January
If your New Year’s resolution is to see more shows, Chicago’s January offerings will get you off to a nice start. From ska punk favorites to one of the most beloved artists to ever call Chicago home, here’s a look at some of the must-see performances coming to the Windy City this month.
Mavis Staples – Chicago Theatre – January 10
Chicago’s own, and Rebellious Magazine favorite, Mavis Staples is starting off her 2026 tour dates right here in Chicago. The Soul and Gospel legend will be joined by Nathaniel Rateliff for a special performance at The Chicago Theatre on Jan. 10. Don’t miss it.
Cristela Alonzo – The Vic Theatre – January 31
Comedian Cristela Alonzo, who made TV history in 2014 as the first Latina to create, write, and star in her own sitcom, Cristela, is hitting the road after releasing her stellar stand-up specialUpper Classy last year. She will be bringing lots of laughter to The Vic Theatre when she performs in Chicago on Jan. 31.
Save Ferris – Park West – January 18


Save Ferris, the ska punk legends known the world over for their beloved cover of “Come on Eileen” and much more, are returning to Chicago to play Park West on Jan. 18. Monique Powell and company put on an incredible show full of fun horn riffs, powerful vocals, and a whole lotta skanking so be sure to wear your dancing shoes for this one.
Cassadee Pope – City Winery – January 24
The versatile pop performer known as Cassadee Pope will be stopping by City Winery on Jan. 24. Shows at that venue tend to take on a storytellers vibe, so perhaps Pope will share tales from her time with Hey Monday, or competing onThe Voice, or her journey to becoming a country music star.
Cate Le Bon – Thalia Hall – January 22


Cate Le Bon is the type of musician that is hard to define. Her folky, indie, experimental style is best experienced live. Don’t miss her show at Thalia Hall on Jan. 22.
Elsewhere this month, Kathleen Madigan is bringing The Day Drinking Tour to The Chicago Theatre on Jan. 31 and the electronic duo Snow Strippers will be stopping by The Riviera Theatre on Jan. 21. Also, Galdive’s Blue North American Tour is coming to Sleeping Village on Jan. 27.
