M&S Crackled Leather Car Coat Launch

While researching for my coat feature, I discovered that a car coat is made for easy wear in the car, hitting usually just above the knee. I’ve really never had a problem driving in any coat but feel the trend might date back to the 50’s when getting in and out of a car was far more considered than it is today. I mean, I just launch myself in… how complicated can you make things? The Marks & Spencer Leather Patent Crackle Car Coat is a ‘long line’ car coat adding a further complexity that nobody needs but my goodness, what a coat.

The model, gorgeous, is apparently a size 8 and is 5ft 10 so for those of us shorties, it’s going to be a little bit longer than it is on her – neck to hem (on a size 12) is 101cm and it’s 100% leather with a poly/viscose lining. The two most lovely words appear in the ‘how to care for’ – wipe clean! Oh, if all my clothes were wipe clean! Anyway, it’s part of the Autograph ‘investment piece’ range so the price of £350 reflects that – but I saw on Brand Alley, home of the best fashion discounts, a Victoria Beckham leather coat – vastly reduced but still £999 so it’s all relative. It’s HERE if it’s the coat for you 🙂
