Megchella showed us how rewarding joy after a healing
Megan Thee Hengst was the highlight of Coachella 2025. At the end of MEGS set, her microphone was cut. A bluesky user caught a video of the moments that her microphone was switched off. When the crowd sang her name, Meg ended her set and choreography with grace and professionalism and took an arc when her performance abrupted.
Although Goldenvoice, the company that organizes the festival, gave no reason why her set had briefly proceeded, unhappy fans believed that the reason was to leave for post Malone who was headlining.
“#Megchella was the greatest performance of the whole weekend and you cut it for Post Malone?” Asked a user. Another person said Meg should have been the headliner on Sunday.
Although the appearances will not be livestream the next weekend, Megan will appear again on Sunday, April 20, the second weekend of Coachella.
Megchella was incredible to see because her talent and expertise. But it is also so cute to see MEG at this point of her healing trip and be able to root for her, which she went through. It is a hopeful memory of the ability of black women to get up again and again through the life of life, and what is more important, it is a nice view of the joy and freedom that we all feel.
