Malin + Goetz Rose Otto Candle Review
[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] We started this week with a rose candle and it seems fitting, given that it’s Valentine’s Day, to end the week with one, too. To me, the Malin + Goetz Rose Otto Candle is the best of rose candles so you could say that this is a love letter to a candle that’s been in my life for several years.
The Malin + Goetz Rose Otto Candle is fresh, petal-like, grassy and aquatic. It achieves the clever trick of amplifying the rose aroma without overpowering it with grapefruit, cardamom, geranium and vetiver. The throw is incredible and happens very quickly too – perfect for last minute room refreshing or atmosphere boosting.
I’ve given this candle as a gift many times – most often as wedding presents because it has the most beautiful opening moment where a rush of rose greets you as the box lid opens. Is it romantic? It’s whatever you need it to be – energising, cleansing, enhancing or relaxing and as adaptable as any fragrance can be. Somehow, it fits every mood. It’s the oncoming of spring, a warm day in summer and a friend to brighten a winter day. Rose Otto isn’t new but it continues to sell and sell and sell for all the reasons above.
If you’re feeling extravagant, you might be interested in the Rose Otto Super Candle, which even at £160 HERE is walking out of their flagship Berwick Street store, where Malin + Goetz are holding a pop up flower store with Lovergirl floristry HERE. If it can be that a candle can hold a place in your heart, Rose Otto holds a spot in mine – it’s only ever been an absolute joy in my life. The 225g size has a 60 hour burn time and costs £56 HERE.
