How to Master TikTok’s Pink Lips Trend
Certain lipstick shades are timeless, and pink has officially earned its place among them. Why Are Pink Lips Trending?
“Pink lips are definitely having a moment because they bring a freshness and youthful feel to any look,” says Ward. On TikTok, pink has become synonymous with the clean girl aesthetic, often paired with slicked-back hairstyles and minimal makeup. As Ward explains, the color feels effortless and adds that same quality to your overall look. The appeal also lies in its versatility—lighter shades add a soft, fleshy tint to the lips, instantly waking up the face while still feeling modern.
Lip stains—pink lip stains, in particular—are also having a moment. “These are part of the larger K-beauty trend taking over social media and are inspired by the just-bitten stains that have been popular over the last few years,” says celebrity makeup artist Kasey Spickard.
Nostalgia is also fueling the rise of pink lips. According to Spickard, the resurgence of Y2K makeup continues to shape today’s trends. “Bold pink lipsticks popped up on the runways during fashion week in a range of finishes, including cool-toned, frosty and even matte, solidifying the trend,” he says.
