Hermès Appoints New Head of Perfume and Beauty

Hermès has appointed Anne-Sarah Panhard as the luxury brand’s new managing director of perfume and beauty, effective November, the company confirmed to The Business of Beauty.

Since 2018, Panhard served as managing director of Hermès Maison, the brand’s home division, and president of its silverware label, Puiforcat. She originally joined the house in 2011 as general manager of the Faubourg Saint-Honoré flagship.

Panhard succeeds Agnès de Villers, who had held the position of managing director for over a decade; de Villers will retain her role as chairwoman of Hermès perfume and beauty, alongside a new appointment as executive vice-president of the Hermès Maroquinerie-Sellerie métiers.

Panhard’s appointment comes in the wake of disappointing third quarter earnings for Hermès’ perfume and beauty division, which announced a five percent decline in sales, primarily driven by a lack of new launches.
