Goldsmiths has launched its first traceable diamond collection, marking a shift towards transparency and sustainability in the luxury jewellery sector.

The Goldsmiths Signature Diamond, developed in partnership with traceability platform Tracr, features a unique 77-facet cut and is set across a range of jewellery in 18ct gold and platinum. All stones in the collection are certified by the Gemological Institute of America (GIA).

The diamonds are sourced from Botswana, Canada, Namibia and South Africa, with the company emphasising ethical mining practices, conflict-free origins and a contribution to local communities. Each stone is scanned, verified twice and recorded digitally to ensure full traceability.

Craig Bolton, president of the Watches of Switzerland Group, said: “The Goldsmiths Signature Diamond symbolises our commitment to a transparent future of fine jewellery and invites clients to become part of their diamond’s journey.”

Tracr chief executive Wesley Tucker added: “Every diamond is traced from its registration at rough by the diamond producer who discovered it and followed all the way through its journey to be selected for this special collection. Every diamond in this collection has a positive impact on the community where it was discovered.”

Goldsmiths has also positioned the collection as a redefinition of diamond quality standards, adding “conscience” to the traditional “four Cs” of carat, cut, clarity and colour.
