Well, I wasn’t expecting this, but Walmart is quietly crushing the summer midi dress game right now. Like, really good ones. Think breezy fabrics, cute styles, and easy fits—simple, wearable pieces that feel just right for warm weather. And the prices? Let’s just say I ended up adding a new bag and a pair of sandals to my cart without even thinking twice.
Free Assembly Walmart Dresses Are Exactly What I Want To Wear This Summer
I’m loving all of these dresses so much, I couldn’t choose just one. Whether you’re looking for something casual, something a lil’ dressy, or just that perfect everyday throw-on-and-go piece, Free Assembly at Walmart has some great options. And spoiler: this one can easily be worn with a regular bra, too — woo!!

From eyelet details, to drop-waist styling, to ruched tie-fronts, to the best thing about them all: they have pockets (yay)! So if you’re looking to freshen up your wardrobe without spending tons of money, Walmart is worth a serious scroll through.
Let’s get into the ones I’m loving most…
1. This Pretty Cotton Eyelet Midi Dress (Also Comes in Plus!)

This classic drop-waist eyelet midi dress is 100% cotton and a total subtle stunner. The embroidery adds delicate details that instantly takes a simple dress style to the next level. I love that the fabric is breezy and lightweight without feeling too thin (we aren’t dealing with that clingy, see-through situation here). The color, a dark navy, is incredibly versatile and goes great with black or brown accessories.

I love how this dress can go from daytime to evening with ease, just switch out the flat sandals for a pair of wedge espadrilles and you can easily wear this dress to a wedding or any kind of dressier summer event. Oh, and did I mention this dress comes in plus sizes?? It’s available up to size 4X. It has adjustable straps, a hidden zipper, and measures 41″ in length (on a size medium), and has big ole’ pockets. I felt that this dress ran a little large, so order one size down.

Now, about the bag. What makes this raffia bag up a notch is the super cool top knot (it’s all about the little things, ya know?) The dimensions are: 11″ W x 10″ H x .5″ D. It’s the perfect updated summer clutch that’s big enough for your phone, credit cards and lipstick. Also, it’s under $20!
2. This Ruched Bow Tie-Front Midi

This dress is 100% totally my summer dress vibe. I love the fitted bodice and the three adjustable bow ties across the chest and waist. It makes this dress feel romantic and uber-flattering, yet totally breathable. It hugs just enough (in all the right places) without feeling tight in the slightest. It’s super easy to wear, it’s breezy and comfortable, and perfect for any occasion from weekend get-togethers, or summer beach vacays.

Okay, I am SO impressed with this woven mini bucket bag by Time and Tru. I’m not the only one impressed by this bag, it’s a bestseller at Walmart with good reason. It has 27 almost 5-star reviews. The quality is honestly so much better than I was expecting, it’s well-made and durable. And it also comes in this equally cute multi-striped option. Best yet? It’s priced at under $25! I’d easily pay more than double that for this bag.

About the sandals: you know I can’t resist a pair of pretty strappy sandals and these wrap ankle sandals are totally my vibe. I also love the chic, abstract, metal, silver-tone metal hardware on the big toe. I wore them all morning long without any complaints. They also come in black and white.
3. This Striped Square-Neck Midi
This dress is the the perfect example of a simple, yet subtly stunning summer dress. The square neck and the thin straps give it a minimalistic/modern vibe. The 100% cotton fabric is lightweight and soft (and has pockets)! The simplicity of this dress makes it perfect for a whole range of different activities from brunch, to the farmer’s market, to evening drinks in a beer garden.
What I love most about this dress besides its simple, yet chic style is the slightly dropped waist and the flare skirt. It gives this dress a very modern, up-to-date feel to it. It can easily be dressed up with a pair of espadrille wedge sandals like this pair from Time and Tru that are currently on sale for less than $13.
This dress has a lined bodice, a shirred waist, and a smocked back. It also comes in a super fun red stripe option as well as in black. I feel that it runs pretty true to size, but the chest area was a little tight at first. After I adjusted the straps I had no problems. It’s 100% cotton, and machine washable too!
4. This Dreamy Cotton Eyelet Midi Dress

Okay, I obviously love an eyelet moment for summer – it’s so timeless and pretty. This dress has that easy, laid-back fit with gorgeous textured panels that make this dress feel super special. It’s light and breezy (and 100% cotton) and it’s just the kind of dress you’d want to take with you on vacation: comfortable and show-stopping.
This vibrant green color is so stunning and fresh in real life. I love the thicker, broader shoulder straps, which means you can wear a regular bra with it. Hooray!!

It has some shape to it without being too fitted, so it’s easy to move around in. It’s a dress for one of those days when you want to feel put together with minimal effort. It’s also 100% cotton, with pockets and I found that this dress runs slightly large, so order a size down for a more fitted look.
