Esker Body Plane Review – The Stripe
Esker’s Body Plane is one of the simplest yet most impactful tools I’ve added to my bodycare routine. It does so much good for your skin in just a few minutes.
What it is: The body plane is a stainless steel tool, inspired by ancient Greek strigil techniques. You run it along your skin (think like a razor). It simultaneously pushes oil into your skin while exfoliating.
How to use it: After showering (ideally when the skin is still damp), massage a small amount of body oil into your skin (arms, legs, torso). Then, run this (at a 45-degree angle) up your body. I apply gentle pressure, much like when I shave my legs. Work your way up from your toes, one limb at a time! Use longer strokes on your arms and legs, and shorter strokes on your torso, chest, and neck.
Benefits: It exfoliates and leaves your skin SO soft. It also helps to smooth away bumps, ingrown hairs, and rough patches. I love that it removes dead skin cells while pushing the oil into your skin for deep hydration. It’s great for those of us with dry skin, leaving my skin smooth and very glowy. It also feels amazing — a lovely ritual to add to your routine.
You can use it with any body oil. I’ve used this one from the same brand, but I love using it with Oak Essentials Dew Body Oil (currently one of my favorite body oils, which pairs well with the body plane!).
