As the old saying goes, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!” In Demi Moore’s case, that meant sticking to her tried-and-true glam for the 2025 Oscars: long, luscious, super-shiny black hair that goes on and on and on.
Moore, nominated for her role as Elizabeth Sparkle in The Substance, looked every bit the icon with her signature flowing dark hair spilling over one shoulder. Hairstylist Dimitris Giannetos, who has been working with Moore for much of awards season, was inspired by a 2003 Vogue cover shot of the star when crafting her Academy Awards hair. “Demi is wearing a beautiful Armani Privé dress. So I wanted [her hair] to be glamorous, but at the same time powerful, like Demi’s personality!” Giannetos explained.
First, he prepped Moore’s towel-dried hair with Moroccanoil Treatment Original oil to smooth frizz and condition, then spritzed on the brand’s Root Boost Spray and Perfect Defense Heat Protectant. Giannetos blew her hair out with a Dyson hair dryer, parting it in the center. After her hair was dry, Giannetos added soft curls with the Dyson Corrale Straightener and set each section. Once the hair was cool, he brushed it out and spritzed on Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray for a “lush and glamorous finish” that (Elizabeth) sparkled under the camera flashes—and felt like pure, classic, timeless Demi Moore.
