Barbie Would Be Jealous of Anya Taylor-Joy’s Picture-Perfect Ponytail—See the Photos

Pulling together a simple, sleek-yet-bouncy ponytail is easier said than done, but actor Anya Taylor-Joy just held a masterclass in picture-perfect ponytail styling at Paris Fashion Week.

Taylor-Joy, a Dior Beauty ambassador, gave Barbie a run for her money at the house’s fall/winter 2026/2027 show on March 3 in a platinum-blonde ponytail so long and swingy, it belongs in the Dream House… or maybe on Princess Peach? (Taylor-Joy voices the iconic Super Mario heroine in the animated movies, just saying.)

Hairstylist Gregory Russell, who frequently works with the star, pulled her hair back tightly and cinched the lengths right at the crown of her head, wrapping a thick portion of hair around the base to disguise the elastic. Russell let the rest of Taylor-Joy’s long hair fall in loose, barely there waves, with most of the curl concentrated just at the ends for movement and swish factor. The ponytail hit at mid-back and complemented Taylor-Joy’s apricot silk Dior ensemble without competing with it. It’s the kind of ponytail that feels effortless, but you know a lot of thought and precise pinning and tweaking went into achieving such simple perfection.

Taylor-Joy’s swingy, swishy style is proof that there’s never a bad time for a pretty ponytail, even at more formal events like a wedding, prom, or, you know, a Parisian fashion show. (We can dream, can’t we?) It works as well with a Dior dress as it does with jeans and a T-shirt, which is why the ponytail remains a mainstay in red carpet routines and everyday styling alike.

The Dune star wasn’t the only Dior Beauty ambassador serving up spring beauty inspo at the house’s highly anticipated runway show, either. Willow Smith also attended the show in a lined, metallic gold frosted lip that we can’t stop thinking about. Pair these Fashion Week standouts with a fresh color, cut, or some trendy, springy nail art and you’re ready for your own personal runway show.
