Ayurvedic Resurgence | CAAM 2025
Ayurvedic Resurgence | CAAM 2025
The California College of Ayurveda (CCA) made an appearance at the California Association of Ayurvedic Medicine (CAAM) 2025 conference this weekend. With roughly 200 Ayurvedic practitioners in attendance, there were multiple CCA alumni speaking at the conference. Kicking off the conference was our CCA Founder Dr. Marc Halpern, CCA faculty member Dr. Ram Rao and CCA graduate Nidhi Pandya also spoke at the conference. The conference had a strong start with Dr. Halpern’s keynote thesis on Sankhya Philosophy. There were numerous speeches from experts in the field such as Dr. John Douillard (Life Spa) and Dr. Janardhana Hebbar (Easy Ayurveda) which elevated the education of all the guests in attendance.
With an assembly of so many powerful Ayurvedic minds, discussions began to take place (both on and off the stage) advocating for the advancement and accreditation of Ayurvedic medicine across California and throughout the United States! A conclusion was made that through our own division – between schools, committees, and practitioners – we have stagnated the growth of Ayurveda in the West. A call to action was made, a call towards strength by virtue of unification. Only together can Ayurveda be legitimized in the eyes of the United States Medical Community and large steps were taken during the CAAM conference to join together for the advancement of the entire field of Ayurveda. This conference will be remembered as a turning point in the modern advancement of Ayurveda, and we at CCA were so grateful to have played a part in that.
Apart from the Ayurvedic lectures taking place at CAAM, CCA Sponsored the Practicum on Business of Ayurveda continuing the advancement/development with the applicational side of owning an Ayurvedic Healthcare practice. We also maintained an educational booth with CCA Representatives. Chris Garber and Jess Hartley communicated the vision of the College with other schools, guests from India, and the Ayurvedic community. Many heartfelt discussions were had, insightful conversations, and firsthand accounts of the education experience were all shared with visitors of the booth. We appreciated the support from all our dedicated graduates, in fact CCA alumni made up 20% of the total CAAM attendees!
We were delighted to be one of the major sponsors at CAAM and to contribute towards the ever-growing field of Ayurvedic medicine. We hope to see even more CCA graduates at coming events! Keep your eyes peeled in future newsletters for information about upcoming CCA appearances.
