Digby Dog Wash Review | British Beauty Blogger

[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] With all the Dora drama recently (the vets now conclude that her tail isn’t broken – she isn’t even on pain killers anymore) it was very nice to just give her some proper attention not based on handling her like a Ming vase. I was pleased to wash her – she was less delighted

Over the years I’ve swung between fancy dog grooming products and basic. The difference seems always to be in the smell and the conditioner. Digby is part of the Bramley franchise and a recent bring back for the brand – coincidentally, a very thoughtful friend sent Dora a little Digby shampoo set as a get well present and if I’m honest, the thing she was most excited about was the biscuits that came in the box.

I mean, dogs don’t really like being washed which is so ironic as they love to cover themselves in anything and everything they find on a walk, including muddy puddle rolls, so how evolution made it that they don’t like being warmly bathed in lavender and mandarin scented unguents, followed by a soothing and smoothing blow dry is a mystery we will probably never solve. However, I enjoyed the fragrances of this natural blend. It feels wholesome and countryside-ish with none of the overpowering sweet notes that Dora comes back from the groomer with. They once gave her a baby powder scented rinse and I had to ask them not to do that again – I don’t want my dog to smell like a baby!

The conditioner is the litmus test – bearing in mind that all Dora wants is to be out of the shower as fast as possible, the fact that it rinsed like a dream was all to the good. She is as soft and as fluffy as the cutest Build-A-Bear – even her dog minder, Nuria, commented on it when she picked her up for the day. The shampoo is £14 with the refill being £12, and the conditioner is also £14. Look out too for the solid shampoo bar – probably a very good option for shorter coated breeds. Find Digby HERE.
